Filters stuck together?
This is not an uncommon problem - Leave the lens and filters attached to the camera. Up end and place the camera in a large bench vice tighten until you hear the camera... -

P.S. The Hummingbird hawk moth photo was taken in France recently and like you. i haven't seen them in the garden (usualy on the Budlia) since 26th July 2006 which is the last time i photographed one in the UK. But who knows, they may yet make an appearance- 21 Jul 2010 6:33PM
