Whilst I'm waiting for my surgery, which happens at the end of the month, I can't do any formal portrait photography as planning and shooting is just too sore. So to keep myself occupied I've just been carrying my camera with me whenever I go anywhere and the result is a few flower images. It's a mile away from my normal genre of gothic and fetish based portraits but I like it and it's always nice to diversify.
It’s a great exercise in training your eye, adapting portraiture skills for fine art work and just generally diversifying my portfolio a bit. I’m still trying to find my own voice with my fine art work and flower studies – I still have to find my own signature style for this kind of work, but in the meantime it’s fun experimenting with images. Hope you enjoy this one, taken near Dundee in Scotland on a lovely sunny day. I have no idea what kind of plant produced these burrs, further research is required to find out. I love a good research project!
Hugs y’all. Lisa x
