Contemplation .... Short eared owl

By wardsteven
This was an image i have waited over six months to catch, watching the seo fly around for a while now. But new during winter to conserve enery that they would start using the posts. so under camo and waiting patiently for a long time i got my shot of this beauty. My heart was racing when he landed 10 metres in front of me on the post. Was very late so light was rubbish so i quicky went from 3200 ISO down to 800 and got 1/60 second shutter speed which luclkly gave me a sharp shot due to owl staying still for a short while on the post. He only stayed for about 30 seconds and flew off. Was thrilled to get this close to an amazing creature such as the seo. Taken with 7d Canon 400mm 2.8 is L
