Life in mono

By webjam
Looking out the window, it is hard to say that it is
summer now. After a little rain shower, some weeks ago, I went into the garden to photograph some flowers.

This year the garden has been neglected as never before - all my time and energy goes into stripping, plastering, sanding, prepping and painting the new house for my daughter, and it is taken ages to get it done.
It is sad to see the garden being overtaken by all the weeds - so I guess that is the reason why I converted these shots to dark sepia toned images.

But eventhough they look dark and without colour - I still feel that the beauty of nature shines through the image.
What do you think?

Nice tones and composition. Proves beauty is more than just about colour ....more than skin deep.

Thats a shame about your garden but look at what you have still managed to get out of it, your right even though its Black and white its still got just the same if not more power behind it, you will get the house done soon while its wet and muggy and then you can do the garden while its fresh and sunny thats if its not flooded! hahaha

Very Inspiring!
that gets a vote...

I missed this earlier but it is a fine study of form and texture which is enhanced by using a mono image.
Works well Jacqueline.
