Early Evening Sailing

By WeeGeordieLass
Sailing down the Ganges on the way to the wide open sandbank which would be our camping base for the night.

As the sun begins to go down there the light is gorgeous. I've tried to convey how I remember the light and just how peaceful it was.

The shot was taken in portrait format but I thought a square crop would suit the scene better.

I'd welcome any ideas on the processing and composition.

Thanks for looking.

This image in my view will work better as a monochrome as it will give a different character and may create that atmosphere that you are trying project. Having said this I like this image a lot but my mind keeps drifting in suggesting weather I like the backgroung colour or not. It is certainly different. Are the colours original? The composition is artestic and deserves more viewing. A monochrome image of strong contrast of dark vs light is worth experimenting in my personal view

Hi Balwant,

I think your idea is great and I'll certainly experiment with some black and white processing on this one.

The colors have been saturated in post processing (probably a bit too much).

Thanks for visiting my pf and also your great idea.
