The Eagle Has Landed

By WeeGeordieLass
This one really tested my technical, composition and re-touching skills and I realise now how difficult it is to make a good night shot image.

Shooting at night I needed a three and a half minute exposure to balance the light between the Eagle and Harlech Castle in the background. I also wanted to ensure some detail was shown in the mid-ground trees.

I carried on shooting until it was so dark that I couldn't see the images on the back of my camera Tthis one was my last shot and I'm really pleased with it - hope you like it too,

That is something else, Elaine!
Worth all that effort and the processing is very good.

That's one impressive looking eagle, Elaine Smile And an excellently captured night shot too, with good detail in eagle, castle and the foreground - well done! Smile

Perseverance has paid off.
Sometimes it s the very last shot of a session that works best.
f/8 to f/11 shou;d have been sufficient.
