Highgate Cross

By weeza
A gravestone in Highgate Cemetary, London. I tried to capture all the ivy that had grown so tightly around the cross and was spreading out in all directions.

Great shot - I think these Gravestone pictures work really well in B&W * click *

Atmospheric, works better in B&W than it would in colour.

Like the B&W Louisa. Hard to imagine how long the ivy has been winding round the cross.Could you read the name?

Thanks for all your comments! Couldn't read the name as we were not allowed to walk up close to the graves. The ivy covered nearly everything and was making some headstones start to topple over!

Isn't Karl Marx buried in Highgate cemetry? Great shot.
