Very nice, natural-looking child portrait, with good lighting, catch-lights in the eyes, a nice pose and a lovely smile. I quite like it.

I can see why you left space on the left to have her look into in the image, but I think the background there could be seen as slightly distracting, so maybe considering a crop is in order? I'm uploading a mod as an example.

I agree with Conrad about the distracting back ground,, I think the crop works well. A lovely enchanting pose. I think the whole thing is a tiny bit soft,but the eyes are the sharpest part which is great. It's quite possible that somne of the softness has crept in during the upload process - after you've resized, do a final sharpen to the jpeg (at about 20-40degrees?) as the last thing before uploading

Conrad - yes he background is quite messy - you should have seen it before i modified it. But I think your solution of cropping works much better. Makes it a much stronger image.

I will look at the sharpening again - I must admit that sharpening is not something that I really know what to look for. I have read about so many different ways to sharpen in photoshop, including multiple passes.
