A deep sense of desolation and despair extremely well conveyed. Great capture Alan.

for a moment, it baffled me.. am i seeing the right way? can it be so simple? am i not missing something? the simplicity of it tricked me.. and i have seen it for more duration than any other image.. it does give me an inspiration: composition is a very, very fine thing.. and it really becomes very tricky when things are so simple..

not everyone understands that, Pranav Smile
Fabulous tonal quality and textures to envy. I think one of your many strengths is the ability to elevate the mundane and I strongly approve of that. It's good to see a humble little house take centre stage and not a stately home, they get enough attention.

Nature and man's work merging, this looks as though it has evolved organically. Which was what I was trying to do with my nasty toning!

The return to nature takes centuries with older buildings such as these. Modern houses are like matchwood.
In the Yorkshire Dales somebody would be all for turning this into a holiday let . . .

Such sturdy old buildings, it's a shame they are left to ruin.

A real sense of history in this image, the buildings hewn from stone and wood and now undergoing a process of reclamation by nature. Very effective composition and use of tonality.
