This was the farm's milking shed. The structure on the right is one of the stalls.
A texture treasure with that window creating just enough light to create interesting shadows
and a great range of tones. The viewer is left to work out the where and what.
could also be called, 'abandoned... but blessed by light'.. because the sense of light in this is so fine.. there are contrasting situations and yet everything is shown, without blowing off anything.. details preserved.. every inch of it is a place to explore and though abandoned, a place to reflect, mood so private and serene, i would love to sit on the staircase and reflect.. presented exactly as seen..
The range of tones, of light and dark, gives a sense of mystery, of what is there to this that is totally intriguing.
This just radiates texture! Love the light and the tonality as well. Plus I'm a sucker for these abandoned places!
Nice image, beautiful tones!
Like the light comeing in from the window, and the ladder leading to ? a great mono image Alan, hope you had your hard hat on?
You've found a wonderful location, and you're making thoughtful use of it. We're going away for a few days but I shall try to at least keep up with uploads - I'm enjoying the way you are starting to build a picture of the place.
Stall-ends shaped like gravestones.
More mysterious than the first, though equally attractive. Making us think, as usual.
The light through the window offers some hope.
A little history in stone. Beautiful light to open up the darkness.
time passes and farm move forward in their methods but is it any better ?
very moody past times :O)
Lovely light and mono Alan
Great interior image of this disused agricultural building, a good contrast to the modern prefabricated farm buildings, these old ones are so much more characterful and vernacular.
So much to appreciate here. A fascinating shot beautifully processed as usual.
Something very compelling about this shot Alan, I can't explain what attracts me so much, but its great!
The last 4 mono images are simply brilliant!
