I could say this was photographed at Cow Green, in Teesdale, but it wasn't. It was Buttermere. Blush

Local legend has it that when this cow was a young heifer, her mother painted her green so that when the farmer came to send the calves to market he wouldn't notice her hiding in the grass, and so she would be spared. Seems to have worked.
In fact, I was busy photographing the brown cow behind her, and didn't actually notice her until I scrutinized the file later!!
She is known locally as "The Hiding Cow Of Buttermere," and is reputed to be over 100 years old.

Desperately trying to think of a witty remark but failed!! The obvious choice would have been to choose a strong green but this subtle shade with hints of the original colour showing through has resulted in a great surreal image.
