That would depend on which side of the bridge your on and looking at this I'd say you were halfway across Tongue

Very clever composition Alan! I really do like how you framed this and the rendering in mono.

Great composition in this excellent image, Alan. The pigeon and its position really make this image, what a perch! Nice vignette.

So which side did the pigeon think it was on? In any argument most pigeons just sit on the fence BlushBlushBlush
Excellent, of course.

It looks as though the pigeon is weighing up the relative merits of the two options. Hmmm, which side to go and deposit on...?
Nice one.

Seriously I like this image it has humour and the light boarder pushes the image forward which I like in this case. I like the tone range as well which can be difficult against the plain sky.

Is the pigeon trying to tilt the bridge do you think?

That didn't occur to me at the time, Dougie, but explains why it kept jumping up and down.

A very appealing, strongly graphic image, Alan. It appeals by its clean simplicity.
On a very personal note, I feel that cream border captures too much attention, especially as it is broader along the bottom of the image. I feel reducing the width by 50% would be better, but that's only my take on it.Smile

Malc: Although the modern preference in image framing is for the same width all around the image, my own preference ( which, as it happens, I don't usually indulge ) is for the more traditional approach, where it was felt that slightly greater width at the bottom edge resulted in the image appearing more balanced. It's a kind of optical illusion, whereby the same width all round can actually give the impression of there being more at the top!!!*?!!
Clearly there are many who disagree.
I originally tried it narrower, and thought it looked fine. But I also liked it this way, and I was in a generous mood at the time Grin

Thanks for your input, Malc, your honesty is most welcome. It's good when someone shows that much interest! SmileSmile

Love it - those pigeons get everywhere don't they?!!! Beautiful composition, the pigeon makes it real!

A wonderful composition and so effectively presented, Alan.
The subtle vignetting and wide border pull your attention to the subject immediately.
Excellent photography.

A pigeon post Smile. The crop/composition is spot on, Alan. Interesting that Malc made the only comment about the border. That was the first thing that I noticed (not so much the size and shape but the colour) but it should be the image first.
