A lonely location despite the tyre tracks. One can vaguely* imagine the cranes on the horizon having crossed the beach to their destination.
Light and shade, light and shade, light and shade.
*I am usually pretty vague at this time of day.

Lovely and desolate Alan , this is a fine image (I won't mention the fitprints) and the tyre tracks make for a nice lead . Is the model yer sis again ??

Very well observed image of this bleak coastline, really like the composition with the tyre tracks and the contrast in light.

Tracks in sand, irresistible. Do you know this photographer's work, by the way? She was one of the first exhibitors in the Baltic when it opened, still one of the best sets that I've seen there.

Thanks, Moira. Yes, I've seen her work before. I've often found it difficult to photograph the Durham coast in colour- but she makes a good stab at it. Even so, I think a good few of her images wd perhaps work better in B&W. The fashion in current "Art" photography is to photograph in colour in a very matter-of-fact/true-to-life way, without any attempt at enhancement or artifice. Where landscape is concerned, this can often result in images that seem rather drab in comparison to our usual fare, which I suppose does suit our relatively unglamorous coastline.

Excellent composition with a very strategically placed person.

A good gritty mono, like the figure.Smile

Many thanks for picking up on the green cast on my upload today, your refreshingly honest opinion was spot on. I was going to be out all day and had rushed things, less haste more speed I guess.

This is a great shot! I really like the high contrast you applied. Without the human, this shot would've been nothing. Awesome work!

Cheers, Ivor, you're welcome.
Thanks, Marian Smile
