"Oh, then, I see Rembrandt hath been with you".
Worth the try, Alan.

Brilliant - just love your technique and the birches make splendid subjects.

Light meets dark - good against evil. A battle of the titans.
Can't understand why you had doubts...

Beautiful work Alan. I like the contrast between the two trunks, one with some colour, one with none. As though one was a bit further gone than the other.

Like a dark oil painting I see Bill says, "Rembrandt hath been with you," I agree. Beautifully done.

An artistic and mysterious image Alan, Ilove the colour/no colour contrast, the rembrandtesque lighting anf the hint of a forest in the dark background.

An interesting image. I like it, but I'm going to make a couple of suggestions to try. I think the single light birch with the large tree in the dark area might work. I like the frame within the frame effect. I would like to see the leaves at the bottom lightened up a little more in an oblong pattern rather than a patch at the base of the tree. I always admire your creative thought process.

Thanks, Joline, you've given me food for thought.

I've been staring at it trying to figure it out. I keep seeing an escape route but it looks iffy whether one wants to go through. Like being frightened of the unknown. And safe in your little world, even if it's dark. And here it's 2 birch trees. You always bring out the madness in my brain Alan.
