Alan a striking composition and processing. Reminds me so much of Turners paintings. Brilliant Smile

I often see the light on grasses but have never captured what I see and feel.
This is superb and I love the 'orange' flowers? along the horizon.
You might well have added this in with your processing but a gift if natural!

Flows well to gross overpixelation.

Shadows are shadows..

I'm tired of the popularisation of images by proxy voting Alan.

Suffice to say its one of the better images in the galleries tonight.

I'm not sure if I'm proxy voting or not (had never actually considered the matter before...)
I love this. First and foremost you have respect for light and what it does. That ought to be the basis for photography but it no longer seems to be...
Then there's a negative / positive quality that is less frequently found in colour. Light silhouetted against dark, dark against light.
The master stroke is the saturated reds particularly along the horizon. They ought not to work. But they do.

A pseudo-poppy image? Smile Difficult to quantify why this is so good, Alan. Suffice to say it holds your attention far longer than most images.

An image to inspire words. Words that come tumbling out of my mind, because when I look at this image I can't do anything else but think of poetry Grin
It's an image of contrasts ... calm, yet chaotic; dangerous, yet soothing; restricted, but with an open invitation to wander through those grasses into the maelstrom beyond.
As others have said above, this is stunning - even by your normal high standards!

I just wish I'd seen it before... In my humble opinion it is the very best of your work and it is worth very very many awards. I wish I had one to give. Terrific

Fabulous Alan, the essence of a walk along a sandy coat.
Takes me back to the shore at Carnish, the wind in my face and the sound of seabirds ringing in my ears.

Has to be one of your very best images.

Dougie

my award is fashionably late but given in the true spirit of giving.
