Have faith

By marktc
AN unusual title I know but I feel it goes with the shot. This is an image from my Ghost Boat morning. The day was as foggy as foggy could be and with this image I decided to have a more in depth play with the solarization filter I've used before. The title refers to the conversation I had with this chap, as he was deciding whether to brave the fog and and obviously low tide to take him out for his fishing.

I hope you like it and see something different in it. A huge thank you to all those that clicked or commented on yesterdays upload, but especially to Rod (widtink), Alan (whatriveristhis) and Charlotte for their very generous UAs.

Wow! Very very different for you mate. I'd have been very pleased with that. That light bit, bottom left, is a distraction, but otherwise it's perfect. This is another one I'm downloading so I can tell people it's mine.

Great effect with the solarisation , I love how the man and boat are silhouetted against the backdrop and the mini bow wave he has made by wading out adds that subtle bit of energy to shot .....awesome,love it

Excellent old world atmosphere, Mark, reminds me of Frank Sutcliffe's Whitby images. Would crop off that light bit in the bottom as well. Sepia version??

The attitude of the figure, who looks like he's wearing an overcoat and has his hands in his pockets, gives the whole thing an eerie dreamlike quality that's definitely, for me, a bit Surrealist, a bit Magritte almost.

The light on the boat, the 'bow wave,' the reflections, the post, the other boats..... everything is needed, there's nothing extraneous. Quite exceptional.
No point in hanging about, it's UA time yet again...

It's all been said Mark - I especially likes the tones from black through to white.
Wasn't sure about so much sky but it doesn't bother anybody else, so who am I to think differently!

I do like it, Mark. It's nice to see the ripple caused by his moving forward -- give a dynamic feel to your shot.
