Sorry but I'm sure there's an 8th sheep hiding behind the trees in the bottom right hand corner. It may even be in the tree Grin

A quintessential English remake of Kurosawa's classic? Quality light, Alan, and definitely a road less travelled.

Or Seven Trees, possibly?

I like it, irrespective of title.

Beautiful light Alan and the road really enhances the composition. I also like the trees on the left and the right keep the eye in the frame.

I would never have guessed this was yours. It has a sort of painterly quality, with the long lens cramming so much depth into an almost 2-D composition.

The remarkable light on the trees in the valley are what really attracts.
Even seven thousand, seven hundred and seventy seven sheep would not help me get to sleep. Three glasses of Côtes du Rhône, on the other hand, just might.

Oh, dear: light is, trees are. Subject of the sentence is light.
And I perpetrated that abomination without three glasses of Côtes du Rhône BlushBlushBlushBlushBlush

I hadn't actually noticed... a state of affairs I attribute to three glasses of Chardonnay. Grin

Counting sheep, on the road to nowhere?
Chablis, please.

Seven sheep means a hell of a lot of mint sauce - you'll need a bulk delivery.
Three glasses has also become the new 'four candles', it would appear.
Is nobody interested in the eight poles?

Anyway, enough of these conundrums...like Moira, I was fooled into believing someone had hacked your account and uploaded a work belonging to another master photographer. It is reassuring to see that you experience the same normal light us mere mortals are subject to, and not just the darker tones normally attributed to the north by southerners who still see the satanic mills covering every square foot of land north of the Watford Gap.

I'll give it a rest now...

like this a lot
the contorted trees in the FG, to mention just one in a sizable list of photographic merits

Thank you, Pamela. I watched that all the way through. Clearly you are mad.

Or I am.

The little patches of light dancing around the image take the eye on a small journey along a rural byway.
Great use of the longer lens Alan.
