Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please
Don't fence me in.

lack of cottonwood trees... but I like it anyway.

A dirty old sheep perfectly placed in an absurdly artistic fence, giving you a crop to die for. The world doesn't work like this for me.
Such a very satisfying image.

Up North you had fences, in Wales the bloody things came indoors,.

She is quite interested in you Alan. Does she think you're a wolf in humans clothes? Excellent crop and love the blowing wool on the fence.

Nothing sheepish about that stare, Alan.

Funny, sad and beautiful. I like Eric's description of the fence, 'absurdly artistic'. Sometimes life throws up perfect arrangements, you're very good at finding them.
As an aside, it's totally different, but it reminds me in a way of this one that I found yesterday. The emotional power of simple lines.

Leo's link is wonderful! It reminds me though that sheep can do remarkable things if they are following a leader. We used to live just down the road from the edge of a field, with quite a high fence. One year, one of the sheep found that she could jump the fence, and the others immediately followed. Day after day after day... Made a right mess of everyone's front gardens.
As soon as the ring-leader was removed, behaviour returned to normal.

For some reason this reminds me of the great escape.

I get that, though I've never seen a sheep on a motorbike. Well, not yet anyway...
