What a wonderful abstract? Am really impressed with the composition, exposure - and your "eye" for seeing this in the first place!

I agree with all the comments and I do think it's a wonderful shot but should this not be in portrait format? Maybe it's me but this image portrays how light the bike is and the fact it's had to be roped down to stop it blowing away (assuming that is the front fork). Be interested in your opinion on this.
As said, a well deserved award and a top notch shot.

Paul.. thanks for your comments..

this was shot as for an editorial and was the leading image, over a double page spread. DPS. so the crop was dictated by the format. I went in close to capture the detail and maintain impact, rather than opening up and having two much space. The page break coming in between the rim and the spokes, The text was overlaid between the ropes. the article did have the three bikes which were tested shot in full, combined with a couple of action shots used for the road tests. I'll post one of those after writing this.

I understand what you mean and your grasp of the concept.. but sometimes we are constrained by formats and the purpose for which we shoot.. thanks again for your comments..

They say you learn something every day. Now I know what DPS means Smile
