Waning Crescent

Waning Crescent by andora6878

I agree with all comments above and this subject is not as easy as it looks! Treat the moon as a 'sunlit landscape' and you can't go wrong but any camera on 'auto' settings will surely fail. This is crisp, wel composed, expertly exposed and a great picture. Well done!

If your cam has adjustable settings - try switching from daylight to tungsten and also cahange the ISO settings as high as it will go. Keep experimenting and I'm sure you will get good results.
Nice effort in the weather!

I live in Spain now but recognize this as one of my old haunts! This is 'Paddy's Hole' in Redcar. Pop in the club in the High St. Dave and say hello to my sister!
Great sky - moody and atmospheric!

Simply stunning!

I agree with all you say about photographing cats - especially like this one. I too have a 'Bombay' cat (Sooty) and they are notoriously difficult exposure problems - also these creatures know what a camera is and only sit still in the absence of them!
Nice shot and a great looking Moggy!

I'm a sucker for boats and although this is a great work in it's own right....I would love to have seen the original.

Cracking shot - a pity her feet are covered but I guess these moments are fleeting! Lovely composition and a 'keeper' surely!

This is a lovely composition and the sky is a very strong part of this image. I think this shot is very under rated and deserves more clicks! It works for me....click!

Wickedly powerful image - great stuff! Well done.

Lovely capture - great subject too but the light on the distant hills make it for me - Magical! I like this a lot.

Wonderful moody capture and the very brave crop has worked here. Love th light and moody colours - looks very 'Espanol' - Nice work!

This is a cracking picture Cliff - I recognised the style immediately from PPF but see you have changed your 'hardware'!
Good Luck

Agree with 'aftertherain' on this one....a couple of steps right or left and the composition would have been much better IMHO. Nevertheless a good and interesting landscape that looks 'on the edge'!

Agree with everything above but add that you have done well to get the exposure spot on against such a sky!

Spent quite a while browsing your portfolio - a real pleasure! My favourite is the squirrel, probably because I find a black squirrel so unusual?
Thank you for sharing.

I have to echo all the above re the 5d - I use this camera with Canon 24-105mmf/4L, Sigma 12-24mm and Canon 50mm f/1.4 and the results are...staggering! This camera is the best thing I have held in my sticky paws since my Hasselblad 20 years ago and the beauty is the 12.8m pixels allows me to crop and shoot square too!
P.a. Nice portfolio.....and especially nice model, Abbi!
