This is actually an American aircraft the Republic (or Curtiss) P-47b Thunderbolt and not a Spitfire.

Fantastic shot! Those eyes staring at you out of the photo....
The confidence and daring in them....only children have that!
Again, the lighting is perfect!
It gets my vote.

The contre-jour lighting is fantastic. detail in the face and body clearly visible.
But, if I may give one criticism, it seems that the pose isn't natural.
Maybe if she had relaxed a bit into the pose, ie leaned up against the side of the
window, it would have appeared more natural and 'real'
To me she looks stiff and uncomfortable, and that spoils the picture for me
(But I'm a newbie - so what do I know? )

I does look like period pains - I've seen my wife doubled over like that many times.
Perhaps that is what the photo is trying to convey? After all It is a part of nearly every Woman' Life...
A good shot with a lot of gravitas.

An unbelievably simple, classic portrait, but a lot more difficult than it looks.
It is such a beautiful photo and it works so well.

Love the high key effect. Very soft and romantic.
