Excellent shot, well captured. I know how quick you have to be to get a decent shot of these.

  • Froggy by nitin_samani

Well spotted and taken. I love the position of the Frog so obviously shading itself under the leaf. However I do think it would benefit from some cropping in order to separate and highlight the frog and leaf from the rather 'busy' frame.

I'm not too bothered about the new GX1 at the moment, being pretty new to a GF2 and enjoying the experience, but it will be interesting to see how 16Mp handles high ISO. Of more interest is that new EVF and whether it's backward compatible!

600/700 would have been acceptable for this lens at that zoom range. At over a grand, I would have expected more range!

Nikon really need to get their act together, yet another download crawling along at less than 9Kb/sec. 1.5 hours + for a download, pathetic.

Quote:It is the first Charged-Coupled Device (CCD) scanner to use white LED as a light source.

Not by a long shot (flatbed scanner maybe).
The Nikon Coolscan already uses this to great effect. I was contemplating a V700 for my MF scans, but may now have a re-think, particularly as it comes with digital ICE and is far cheaper than the V700

Just a pity they decided to stick with a 3x zoom. This could have been the ultimate p&s if they changed to a 24/28mm.
I would have gladly traded in my F31fd had they just gone wider than the current 36mm.

    Maybe next time!

  • Posted on: Sigma announce launch of DP1

The New Ricoh Caplio GX100 looks more interesting to me, with a 24-72mm zoom at around the 400 mark. Guess I'll have to wait for both to be released.
I read about the Sigma some time ago "can't remember where" but the expected price was extortionate. If I recall it was well over 500

  • Posted on: Nikon to axe most of 35mm product range

There is a strong rumour that Nikon is developing a full frame digital sensor at the moment.
Personally I won't bother buying any more 'DX' lenses for the foreseeable future, as they seem to be making the newer digital models backward compatible with the 'Ai' 'Ai's' series of lenses "as far as metering is concerned".
If the full frame Nikon does see the light of day soon, I would risk a bet that Nikon might also be planning a successor to the 'F' mount in the not too distant future.
