Hello Friends, and thank you for all of your votes and kind comments yesterday, they are much appreciated.

Despite cars never doing too well on this site, I've decided to try a shot I took last weekend at an amateur rally. I loved this old Capri 3 litre being driven with enthusiasm and gusto, despite it having a beautiful paint job!!

I hope you enjoy your Sunday. Ewan Smile

Great images Ewan!

Yes a really blast from the past, a Mark 1 Ford Capri !!

Reminds me of the old poem :-

"I've got twin cam on my Ford Capri, My car's got two dip sticks and one of them is me ! ".

Great pair of images.

Now there is a car, I had a 2.8 injection special in red some 20 years ago now, but what a car it was, stuck to the road like glue as long as it was dry.

I always find old cars put things in persepctive...

I was never a Capri fan: too much bonnet, not enough space - though they did look the part of a backstreet E-Type (which is what almost all sporty cars really want to be).

And I have to admit that there are few things as much fun to see as a Mk. II Escort going sideways, which still happens regularly on classic rallies. Now, if anyone has a rally-prepped Dolly Sprint that they drive with as much vervre and abandon, I want to go and take pictures of it!
