No Fences

No fences is not unusual in Australia. Fences can be anything that encloses an area and it doesn't have to be along the whole boundary. In this case it was a cattle grid and other times it may be a creek, an embankment, a gate or a hedge to name a few. The cattle grid was further up the road.
