That's funny. No, this was part of the Lolo complex fires in Montana this summer. It burned about 10,000 acres. Fortunately, there were only a few structures lost.

Thank you all for taking the time to help. I think I understand the overall concept better, which should help me at the time of the shot next go around. I like the square format, it definitally keeps my eye from wandering around aimlessly. I'll play with the processing suggestions and see if I can't create something more appealing.

    Thanks again,
    Will

It had been in the same yard crying all night and morning...this photo was taken in the afternoon after Fish Wildlife and Parks officials had been called out. A mother does not normally leave a fawn for more than 3 or 4 hours. Apparently a doe had been hit by a car close by.

I was actually too close. The problem was the lighting. It was extreemely bright outside, and the lion was hiding under a moble office trailer in dark shadow. Here I tried a very tight crop to try and overcome the light issue. It is probably displaying at pixel level.

Yes, its a turkey vulture (buzzard) and some crows. Shot in western Montana off Highway 12 near the Idaho boarder.
