Hmmm... now THAT place looks familiar!!! I must admit to having climbed down to that spot on more than one occasion myself!!! Wink
Might be a popular spot, but you have done it justice with this wonderful shot. Smile I would however suggest trying to bring out the detail a little more in the dark foreground areas, to give it a lift.

Thx SuperRoo, was undecided weather to bring more details out or leave it darker so it emphasized the lighting better! Anyway try V2 any better?

Deff V3 for me mate.
Think I would clone out all the burnt out rock though. See, it is a classic because it is beautiful, but, it is also because it is not easy to get the exposure right!!!
Takes a Scotsman I guess!!!!!!! Wink Wink Wink

Looked over all versions, prefer v2 with the light on the rock. Why is it that photographers like to use a shutter speed that gives the water that blurry/fantasia look? Is it a fashion in photography statement or does that just happen like that because of the settings of capturing everything else in detail?

Jules> thanks for your comments! As for the 'effect' bit of both really! Personally i love the effect it creates, but also sometimes, because of the light that is available u have no option but to go for a longer shutter speed to bring enough light into the frame.

All three are excellent, though I can appreciate the quandries... I do like a little more detail than is evident in V1, but perhaps V2 is a little too light for the emphasis you are going for? The square crop works well, but I like to see a little more of the bigger picture. If I have to pick just one, it would be V2, but it's close! (I wouldn't even know where to begin...)

It's rarely east getting the light in the correct place at the correct time, especially down in the hole here. Never tried it might never get back out again.
