Sometimes it does one good just to sit and ponder, without reading, writing, watching telly, indulging in conversation, eating, drinking, working on the computer or even taking pictures. During one such peaceful interlude in our French friends' home, sitting in one of my favourite pondering chairs, I slowly – very slowly - became aware of a picture unfolding before me.
