Thanks for all the kind comments about yesterday's wedding photos. V2 was actually my favourite, too, but naturally I put the most work into the one Grandma would like Smile

Mick: Sorry I don't have any more pics of the new mother-in-law's headgear apart from the fleeting purple blob in V6. Not a good idea to wave a camera under her daughter's chin, either, as she would be a good match for Big Aggie Sad

After all the excitement it seems like a good idea to get back to Tanfield Railway in County Durham.

A rather brilliant observational piece which many a mere novice would simply dismiss, Fantastic tonal range in the monochrome, which in someways breaths a whole new life into the image.

A fine example of the use of DOF to produce a classic black 'n white composition.

Tremendous observation Bill, not many find these gems you highlight time after time. Lovely monochrome quality too.

It's truly wonderful when someone can take the simplest and most unassuming thing and make it so visually appealing.

Bravo, Bill.

Great textures in this, and the conversion to mono was an inspired choice.

I doubt the daughter has as many chins as Big Aggie Bill !!
Anyway,back to sanity here.
A fine grotty shot.
And it does not drive me too insane because it is not
COLOURED !!

The dof you have chosen here Bill gives almost a feel of motion blur to the handle nearest us.
As so often, marvellously spotted. You have the eyes of a hawk, sir.
