Here We Go Again 21

Beamish again 7

A close-up abstract of one of the enamel signs in the pit village, covering a gap in the wooden wall of a garden shed.
I hope this is silly enough for a Sunday!

Thanks to Roland and Oliver* for their esteemed awards yesterday; thanks also to everyone for votes and comments, all very much appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

* Pure coincidence places these two historic names together and extracts a minuscule factoid from the deep recesses of my memory: Roland, the tragic hero of the great medieval French epic La Chanson de Roland had a best friend named Oliver; they died together at the (historic) Battle of Roncevaux Pass in 778.

Silly enough, but makes a fine abstract. I like the rim lighting on the ‘clouds’ of rust.

It looks like a creeping, dark oily liquid is overtaking the lettering.

Well seen and taken abstract Bill. the mono treatment gives a slightly sinister look.

I was trying to guess, what it was, before looking at your notes. I lost out, but an interesting abstract .all the same!

I can't easily locate a photo showing the wider view - there is one somewhere in my portfolio - but I'm pretty sure that the above picture shows the HE of News of tHE World, a deteriorating enamel poster tacked on to the side of a wooden shed at Beamish.
