Remembrance 3

By woolybill1
A week of memorials and gatherings. This decorated 125 train was seen in Newcastle Central Station.

The version was taken at the other end of the journey, so to speak: it's the memorial window in the Royal Garrison Church, Portsmouth, as reflected in a brass tablet across the aisle. A b&w version, cropped to portrait format, appeared last month.

Thanks to Leo, Oliver, Sue, Dave (mistere) and Dougie for their cherished U.A.s yesterday, and to all who commented/voted.

Sorry, I should have said: it was painted. That train took us to London Smile

Two imaginative and beautifully composed images.
How sad we have memories like this to recall 100 years on.

Man's inhumanity to man.

Two fine tributes, Bill - if only the world had the courage and sense to learn from the sacrifices made so long ago.
