En avant!

By woolybill1
As one follows a darkened corridor in the wonderful new Musée de la Grande Guerre du pays de Meaux a large painting appears. It is also reflected in a huge mirror that hangs at an angle above, which is of course what I chose to photograph.
The painting, owing much to Delacroix, depicts the spirit of Joan of Arc leading the French army into battle. The young lady in the scarf was sitting on a bench in front of the painting.

Special thanks to the gentlemen who contributed limericks when commenting on yesterday's upload. You know who you are!

Excellent spot, Bill. The spirit lives on.

Can't help feeling they were a bit harsh burning her at the stake for cross-dressing though...

Not so much a scarf Bill,
but I think she has the
Bayeux Tapestry around her neck !!
A fine mono shot.

Seeing as how she's a spirit, there's no chance she'll get pronged, so she didn't really need the armour.
So probably just showing off. But of course, she was French.Wink

A fantastic image Bill, intriguing and fascinating. The strength of the image is intensified by your processing, and works SO well. The original comp' being excellent as usual Smile

Very interesting perspective...especially with Joan looking up, feminine but powerful and ready for the fight whereas the girl is looking down, making herself somehow small as if she wants to hide, be invisible...
