Worth going back

Tried again this morning for a Common Hawker in flight.

I have C1 on my G9 pre-set at F8 1/2000th second with a 34 point diamond central af area. I'm having most success with AFS and back button. it's quicker than CAF despite recent improvements in firmware. The killer feature though is a custom near focus over ride button from firmware 2.0 It is the best telephoto feature ever added to a camera for a telephoto user. I'm amazed it gets so little publicity.

CSpanner on menu then operation then Function Button set. I use FN16 for Near FN18 for Far bias. This was introduced in Firmware 2.0 and is in notes at end of revised handbook you can download along with firmware. The Custom buttons can save whatever you currently have.
