I have a tendency to get excited to the point of mania when I find someone who inspires me. Well I'm certainly excited at the prospect of doing more shoots with young model Brett Shannen Deadman.

I can honestly say that every model I've worked with has added something to my portfolio or experience but some models shine. In 2006 it was Liv and Ruby. In 2007 it was Lucy, Sophie and Hannah. In 2008 it was Holly. These are the bright lights for me, the people who have become more than just models, the people who in a very real sense have kept me going. As much as I have enjoyed working with all the new models I have found this year I was always hoping for someone who would shine.

Brett has made an excellent start. She's a natural performer and a great communicator (a most valuable asset) and I look forward to seeing what she can achieve, not just with me but with the stampede of other photographers that are already heading her way Grin

In addition to meeting Brett, I had the pleasure of working with Make-Up Artist Amy Packer. The brief for Brett's test shoot was very simple, I only wanted basic enhancement. The real test with a first shoot and certainly when working with more than one new person, is the test of personalities. No worries there. We all got on extremely well and so I plan on working with Amy again.

It is perhaps fitting to close this entry with a few words about my step-daughter Victoria. It was, after all, Vicky who got me started with this model shoot thing. As some of you may know, she left home more than eight years ago and Jean and I have had no contact with her since then. Despite that, she has always been in our hearts and minds. Anyway, we recently found out that she is now working as a glamour and promotions model and I'm really pleased for her. I know how much she enjoyed having her photo taken. It's also nice to know that even if we're not working together, we still share that common interest. I wish her the very best of everything.
