One of my most lasting impressions from this morning's little hospital adventure was of the radiographer. I relate this because, after all, a radiographer is a kind of photographer. Having been...er...prepared by the radiologist and nurse, the lights suddenly dimmed and out of the shadows crept this guy. He was older than I expected (?) and had the kind of softly persuasive voice used by the best interogators who know they have you in a most vulnerable position. I saw him out of the corner of my eye, the eerie light of the machinery glinting off his spectacles. And then the room lights came up and he was gone. I expected a few things (and got them all) but what I didn't expect was the theatricality of it all.
