Burning Knots

By Xenphoto
Macro play of a burning incense stick. This is my first attempt with anything like this and I found it very tricky to balance the exposure and darkness, let alone focus! *Any* suggestions to help improve this shot and my next attempts gratefully received Smile

To make focussing easier, try a bright light which yo uswitch off before shooting.

Also, I've recently bought myself a focus rack - this allows me to move the camera and lens backwards and forwards to focus, as wel las adjusting the lens. It really does make it easier!

As ever, you look for what others do not see, so your shots are of things that the rest of us miss...

Torch is a very good idea! Never even thought, I've just been struggling with focussing in low light, although with the Olympus having an actual screen rather than my old Nikon viewfinder, I've been finding it easier Tongue And focus rack? Looked it up - I'm still balancing the camera on varying thicknesses of books and sliding things around on the table!
