Looking

I was trying to achieve the scenery through the window as if the person was looking through the window

Welcome Yasmin

I assume from your description this should be an image which shows the view through the window. If this is the case I'm afraid you have made a common beginners error, by letting the camera select the focus. I suspect the camera has focussed on the water drops and this has caused the outside view to be blurred.

To get around this you need to use a manual focus setting - you can do this by switching your lens switch from auto(A) to manual (M) then you adjust the focus ring to focus on the image you want.

On a positive side you have also created an excellent abstract of the exterior colours and light Grin so although not achieving your desired effect you have created an excellent image. Just to help improve this image slightly I have loaded a mod with the small area of blue in the bottom right corner removed as it was not making any contribution to the final image.

As a first image to the site well done and keep posting so we can help as much as we can. Grin

Hi Yasmin, welcome to EPZ! Grin

I really like this as an abstract (the colours are wonderful) - the silhouette of your hand is really eye catching and provides a point of focus.

As you've clicked the 'Critique' button you won't receive any votes, but you will get some honest opinions and helpful tips! Smile Eric has given some good advice, which I can't really add to! Smile

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

As Eric says, you didn't achieve your objective, Yasmin, but I do like the resultant image where the water droplets are focused against the graduated background, with a strong hand silhouette. It's an excellent idea, and it's nice to see someone venturing into the creative side of photography. Keep it up.
Pamela.

Not, I suspect, what you actually intended, but quite effective. I would have liked the silhouette of the full hand in frame, but the impact is effective.
