Some Houses, apparently

By yellowmunky
Originally a test shot for something else (pre WWF's Earth Hour), I decided to faff about with a HDR styled image. Note my resistance to straighten edges; it's one of those times where it didn't work as Big Ben ended up looking like a weird stretched and distorted rhombus; not good with such a recognised and iconic landmark...

Anyway... here it is... Houses of Parliament... big fricking house, if you ask me...

I really like this picture - good balance between light and dark with just enough light in the sky for interest.

Good colours, light - and I think the perspective works well. Great image.

interesting image - would still look good if it was just the slow exposure building but i think it really adds to the impact by having the human elements moving in blur in the foreground

places like houses of parliament are certainly a great thing to see - i vaguely remember my london years and often enjoyed these sites.

Lots to interest in this image. I'm glad you didn't sharpen or straighten anything and the use of a vibrant blue against the red gives rise to a dreamscape feeling to this image. I love it. helen

cheers amigos...

Forgot to mention... the camera was 'hand-held' Smile

I say 'hand-held', but what I mean is the image is steadied in the crook of my ark with my free hand clamped on the forearm...
