A new crown for the dead king

By YorkshireSam
I went here to photograph this dead tree and the view down Farndale so had my tripod set up on the other side of the tree as we see it here, I took a few shots but wasnt really happy with the composition and light so I decided to move on. As I made my way downhill I figured the nearby wall was a good place to take a pee before getting into more open countryside and as I was doing that I just happened to look up and notice the cloud formation nearing the tree. Just one or two minutes later the clouds were gone and I was still gobsmacked that Id not only witnessed it but had captured it too albeit a very rushed affair, not so rushed though that I didn't remember to use a polariser and nd grad to maximise the effect.

The clouds are so well positioned above the tree here, Sam: you got this one at exactly the best moment.

A fantastic pov in which you have captured this rather brilliant composition. Pity it was not larger.
