Raining in Arthurs Pass

By katieb
I had very few wet days while travelling the South Island of New Zealand, this was one of them.
I had taken the trans Alpine train up to Arthurs Pass, spent a fantastic afternoon climbing the mountains but as we decended the mountains we could see the rain coming in from the West coast. It rained solidly all night and most of the next morning before I caught the train back to Christchurch.
This was taken while sitting out of the rain on the verandah of an Arthurs Pass café enjoying the largest Hokey Pokey ice cream I have ever had. Scrumptious.
Although I wasn't overly impressed with the rain the NZers were jumping for joy as they were suffering from one of the driest summers they have ever had with severe drought conditions.
Thank you for stopping by

When it rains it certainly rains - we were lucky on our trip with only one days rain.
Like the layers in this
