Here is a shot I took of a 2006 Porsche Cayman S I "borrowed." I decided to take it down to the underground parking garage of my old office building. I went around 11:30PM. I got some strange looks but also the green light from the security guards. I知 thankful for their understanding as I know how much photographers can freak them out.

I have to give much of the credit here to the terrific Nikon 70-200mm lens.

I hope everyone can enjoy this picture. I know automotive shots are not very popular here (I think old grounded ships and over-turned rowboats on the beach are the main staple for the transportation category). I was going for a poster/brochure look with this photo. Comments and criticism are welcome as I am here to learn.

That looks wonderful, Chris - had you said you'd published it in a magazine, I would have believed you. Excellent lighting, btw - well done!

An excellent shot well exposed, with just the right amount of detail in the glass. I particularly like the concentration of lighting around the centre of the car.

BTW - I know only too well what you mean about epz preferences ! Wink

Love it and the car. Looks as if it should be in a wind tunnell.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

I was so please with how this shot came out. I was not sure how the lighting would work and I was concerned with the framing. Anytime I frame something for symmetry I always find out it was a little off when I look at it on a monitor.

I have to admit I really lucked out with the lighting. I think it almost looks like studio lighting when it really was just a hanging lamp. The only thing else I could have asked for from the light was a little bit more on the front and rear of the car.

I think the parking garage I went to is going to be one of my new favorite spots. I also have to thank Porsche for designing such a good looking car.

Thanks again.

its a beauty and you are right about stationary car shots are never to popular on here, its a real shame because this shot here is worthy of an advertising shot in the Porsche magazine. Great capture and I'm glad you were able to get into the underground car park because, the lighting is perfect, very studio like. Think I will have to add this to my favourites .

I really appreciate the encouragement. I'm just glad that people like you with such nice portfolios enjoyed the photo.

I have a speedlight coming in which I am going to combine with another speedlight I already am using to hopefully get more light on the front and rear of the car by setting them up remotely on stands. If it works I think I will have found the car "studio" I've always dreamed of shooting in.

Good shot and very well executed. I would say mission accomplished.

No problem Z Driver, I love cars and when I see shots like this I get very happy because it's something different. I will keep looking back to see if you have managed to get what you wanted, with the two speedlight flash guns hooked up.

Hopefully it all goes well and thanks for you encouragement on my portfolio.

I love this photograph. It really is soooo much better than some of the pro shots I have seen.
