Quote:Monochrome street photography - without really exposing someone - great!
Image reminds to film and analogue prints.(Where do the "streaks" come frome?)
To my taste the crop could be even tighter - omitting the "WHSmith" and the upper right distractions.
Very well done! Many greetings!
Thanks for comments but I disagree. The signage adds context to his despair.
He was actually an intrepid traveller on his way to India.
The streaks come from a filter I use that just adds some grit to the image.
Not to everyone's taste but I like it.

Thank you for explanation!
- The signage is pretty dominant - but as I understand just stands for a context of consuming busy people. So were is the connection between books and the way to India? Maybe an insider I am not aware of?
- The streaks add to the grungy look - fitting well in this image.

All major transport hubs have this effect on me. We are trapped in a sort of limbo, waiting for someone else to tell us we can move on. Or not, as the case may be. Back a few years ago I found that one particular station in the south is strongly connected with a particular train company. Other companies use the station, but if they have a problem, for example a cancelled train, the station manager refuses to offer any assistance or advice to stranded passengers. So you feel that you could easily drop through a hole in the system and disappear from the face of the earth without anyone noticing...
I digress. The WHS sign is important, the firm started off in railway stations, subliminally the sign says railway travel. It's context.
I hope he got to the other end.
