Summer Afternoon In The Brecon Beacons.

By ziggystardust111
Caroline and myself spent a week in Welsh Wales. We always like to pop through the Beacons at any opportunity.
The light this particular afternoon was lovely, even though it was summertime.

Doesn't look very much like summer. Fine quality, but nothing much to look at and no formal composition. I'm not really a pictorialist, but like such images to have structure.

That's all worked pretty well, although it might be nice to see a bit more detail in the shadows.

My main thought, though, is that this cries out for a panoramic treatment, excluding the light clouds at the top. Mod coming in a wee while...
Perhaps the title should be "Afternoon light in the Brecon Beacons "
Having been a camera club judge I know how much a title starts the story of a picture... That's the reason why I left camera club photography because not many judges see the beauty of light.
Which is the basis of photography..
However take your comments and agree 😀

As a (summer) afternoon wrecked two cameras one day when the sunshine turned to horizontal hail, I have no quarrel with the title...
Probably have somewhere, however I think it's a case of how much do you keep in the way of files.
I have all my tiff files back till 2012 before that just jpegs.. Sorry
How do I change the adult filter?
Seems as I have put this on for this image...😀

Under the picture on the right there's a cogwheel. Choose 'Edit' and then the 'Options' tab - it's in there.
Thank you...
Your right, the crop is better.
Once heard a guy say " crop, crop and then crop again to make a picture more dynamic..

I don't know that I'd agree - sometimes, the essence of a picture is loads of negative space.

But often, cropping close works well...
Indeed....
